Dear Vendors:

The Chamber received a notice from Joseph Wheaton, Contract Electrical Inspector, and he urged me to pass along some important information with regard to your electricity needs at the Rivertown Art Festival.

Note from Mr. Wheaton:

It is the responsibility of the Vendors and Artists to read this Law. It is my responsibility to enforce it. I do NOT publish it or announce it. Historically, Artists do not know about this law. I would hope that you would provide this information on your website. (We will do this immediately for all other vendors and/or artists.)

The Law can be found on this website: www.dli.mn.gov

Go to the “Electrical” Section and then click onto “Temporary & Portable Power.” Download that information and read it carefully to be certain you comply with the law. Fill out any necessary forms and follow any other instructions that are contained within those documents.

If you have questions regarding this, I do hope you will forward your questions to the contact person at the website listed above. This is not something I can assist you with at the Chamber as it is outside my realm of expertise. If you do not require electricity, please disregard this notice.
